The previously teased update for *Pikmin 4* has officially launched, bringing a variety of exciting new features to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Version 1.1.0 introduces a host of improvements, including a brand-new Field Camera that lets players snap and decorate pictures of the game’s vibrant world, plus much more.
### Pikmin 4 Version 1.1.0 Update Now Live
Nintendo rolled out the *Pikmin 4* Version 1.1.0 update earlier this week, along with detailed patch notes. This update had been teased a few weeks ago, but the release date was only recently confirmed. Among the headline features is the Field Camera, which adds a fun photo mode allowing players to capture and personalize images with stamps and frames.
Additionally, new “Décor Pikmin” can be discovered exclusively through the Field Camera. Once captured, these special Pikmin can be shared with the mobile game *Pikmin Bloom* to unlock corresponding seedlings in that app.
If you’re looking for a new challenge—or seeking an easier experience—this update also adds multiple difficulty levels. Alongside numerous quality-of-life improvements like enhanced cursor control, there’s plenty here to freshen up your *Pikmin 4* adventure.
### Full Patch Notes for Version 1.1.0
**Newly Added Gameplay Features**
– **Activity Levels for Creatures:** Players can now select from “Relaxed,” “Normal,” and “Fierce” activity levels for creatures. This setting is adjustable anytime via Options (accessible with the – Button).
– **Field Camera:** Receive the Field Camera in your bag on the morning of Day 2. If you load pre-update save data, it will be added when you return to the Rescue Command Post on the morning of Day 2. The camera allows you to take pictures and decorate them with stamps and frames.
– **Décor Pikmin:** Appear in the story after you rescue the Rescue Corps Ranger Dingo. Use the Field Camera to photograph these Pikmin and recruit them to your squad.
– **Pikmin Bloom Integration:** Share your discovered Décor Pikmin with *Pikmin Bloom*, the mobile companion app, to earn seedlings for the same Pikmin there. To link your data, your Nintendo Account ID must match between *Pikmin 4* and *Pikmin Bloom*. Data sharing occurs when you finish your exploration on the day you discover a Décor Pikmin.
– **New Game+ Mode (“Roll Over”):** After clearing the story, start a new playthrough carrying over select save data. Choose an empty Rescue Database on the file selection screen with completed story save data present. If you reached Day 2 previously, you can skip the introduction and begin your new run from Exploration Day 2 at Sun-Speckled Terrace, right after creating an ID Badge.
**Control Enhancements**
– **Auto Target Lock for Cursor:** Toggle auto target lock on or off in the Options menu.
– **Whistle Center Point:** Choose whether the whistle centers on the cursor or the player avatar. The default is “Player Avatar” when activity is set to “Relaxed,” but this can be changed anytime.
– **Arrow Aim Speed:** Select between “Normal” or “Precise” speeds for the arrow that appears when holding down X to aim. The “Precise” setting allows finer control over Pikmin Charge and Oatchi’s Rush directions.
**Bug Fixes**
– Various issues have been addressed to improve overall gameplay experience.
**Additional Notes**
– The same update (Version 1.1.0) has also been released for the *Pikmin 4* demo. However, the demo does not support linking to the *Pikmin Bloom* mobile application.
