SCOOP: Battle Of Galwan makers considering June 2026 release; shoot of Salman Khan-starrer wraps up in December

It stars Salman Khan in a never-before-seen avatar, as evident from the first look of the film. Yesterday, the actor posted his two shirtless images which wowed his fans as he looked quite fit and desirable. There have been speculations on the internet about the film’s release date and in this article, Bollywood Hungama will report on the same, as per the information derived from credible sources. A source told us, “The shooting began in September in Ladakh and a major chunk of the film has been shot. The team have already filmed key challenging and action sequences. The shooting will be wrapped up in December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will completely focus on the post-production.”In July, Bollywood Hungama had reported that the makers of Battle Of Galwan plan to release the film either in January or June 2026. On this, the source said, “A January release obviously won’t be possible now. But June is seriously being considered, although the team is also looking to see if there’s an ideal release date in the months of July and August next year.”Recently, Shah Rukh Khan fans got a treat as their favourite star unveiled the massy glimpse of his next film, King, on his 60th birthday, on November 2. This has enhanced hopes of Salman Khan fans who are expecting that an announcement video or teaser of Battle Of Galwan would be dropped when their star turns 60 on December 27. However, sources had no idea whether something related to the war film has been planned for December 27. Besides Salman Khan, Battle Of Galwan also stars Chitrangda Singh. Salman plays the role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu in this film, which is based from a chapter in the book ‘India’s Most Fearless 3’ (2022), authored by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. There were reports that Amitabh Bachchan will feature in a cameo. But recently, Apoorva Lakhia confirmed that the reports are not true. EXCLUSIVE: CBFC reduces kissing scene in Thamma by 5 seconds; replaces ‘Azaadi doonga’ with ‘Aiyaashi karata hoon’

Three days are left for the release of the grand Diwali biggie, Thamma, and the excitement is gradually building up. The makers, Maddock Films, completed the censor process on time and in this article, Bollywood Hungama will exclusively focus on the cuts suffered by the horror comedy. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked for audio cuts in three places and one visual modification as well. The word ‘Alexander’ was replaced with ‘Sikandar’. In another dialogue, the word ‘Ashwathama’ was muted. In the second half of the film, the words ‘Azaadi doonga’ were replaced with ‘Aiyaashi karata hoon’. The Examining Committee also asked the makers to ‘reduce the slurping sound of drinking blood to minimum’. Finally, a kissing scene in the second half was reduced by 30%, that is, by 5 seconds. The last modification may dampen the excitement of the moviegoers but on the positive side, this is the shortest intimacy cut asked by the CBFC in recent times. In Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, liplock visuals were reduced by 60%. In Saiyaara, the makers were instructed to delete and replace 10 seconds of ‘sensual, intimacy, body exposure visuals’. Lastly, in Superman, the CBFC axed 33 seconds of ‘sensual visual’ from Superman. It led to massive criticism as the studio had to make abrupt cuts to accommodate CBFC’s directive. Coming back to Thamma, once the changes were made, the censor certificate was handed over to the makers on October 15. The film was passed with a U/A 16+ rating. The length of the movie, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 149. 59 minutes. In other words, Thamma is 2 hours 29 minutes and 59 seconds long. Thamma releases on Tuesday, October 21 and stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. It is backed by blockbuster producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya (2024) fame. It is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and hence, belongs to the same world as Stree, Bhediya and Munjya. After weeks of heightened anticipation, the makers of Dhurandhar have finally confirmed that the trailer of the Ranveer Singh-starrer will be unveiled on November 12, 2025. The buzz around Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is building, thanks to the sensational soundtrack, and an impactful trailer for the mass audiences. After Saiyaara and Sanam Teri Kasam, this is expected to be another film catering to the youth and lovers of intense love stories. The film is clashing with Dinesh Vijan’s Thamma on the Diwali weekend, and the fight is getting intense. Reliable trade sources have confirmed that team Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has demanded equal showcasing to Thamma in national multiplex chains. “Deewaniyat team is confident that the hype for their film is on par with Thama despite a limited budget. They have requested the multiplex chains to be fair with the showcasing, rather than going for lopsided showcasing,” the source told Bollywood Hungama. The source told us further, “PVRInox is the distributor of Thamma, and one of the top management employees of PVRInox is now a part of Team Thama, heading distribution. Deewaniyat team has asked all the national chains to go by the demand among the audience, rather than the foul play of leveraging equations for better showcasing.”The advances for both films are opening on 17th October, and there is immense pressure on national chains to give preference to Thamma. “Dinesh Vijan and the senior former PVRInox executive have demanded 75 percent shows, leaving only 25 percent for Deewaniyat. It’s going to be a battle, and there is a high chance for bookings to start late due to the fight between the two parties.”The Diwali weekend could be a battle royale between team Thamma and Deewaniyat.
