**One Dead, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-290 in Elmhurst**
ELMHURST, Ill. (WLS) — One person has died and two others were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 290 at North Avenue in Elmhurst on Sunday, according to Illinois State Police (ISP).
Troopers responded to the crash just after 2 p.m. Three people were injured in the incident and were transported to local hospitals. Unfortunately, one of the injured later succumbed to their injuries.
As a result of the crash, all westbound lanes of I-290 were temporarily shut down. Traffic was diverted off at Lake Street to help ease congestion. The southbound Interstate 294 ramp to westbound I-290 was also closed but has since reopened.
