Kim Kardashian Looks to the Future After Not Passing California Bar Exam
Kim Kardashian is opening up about her journey to becoming a lawyer after announcing that she did not pass the California bar exam. The 45-year-old reality TV star shared the news via her Instagram stories on Saturday, revealing that she took the exam on July 29 and July 30 but did not pass.
“Well. I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” Kardashian wrote. She continued, “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up—just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far.”
Kardashian added a positive spin to the setback, saying, “Falling short isn’t failure, it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivated me even more. Let’s go!”
A Unique Path to Law
Kardashian began her legal journey in 2018 when she entered California’s Law Office Study Program. This program allows aspiring lawyers to apprentice under licensed attorneys rather than attending traditional law school. After multiple attempts, she passed California’s “baby bar” exam in 2021, a milestone she announced after three failed attempts.
In May of this year, Kardashian completed her six-year law apprenticeship program. Although she is not yet officially a lawyer, she is currently portraying one on television as attorney Allura Grant in the Hulu series *All’s Fair*.
Laughing Off Criticism
The show *All’s Fair*, which also stars Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, and Glenn Close, has received mixed reviews from fans. Kardashian took to Instagram to poke fun at the critiques, posting, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!? *All’s Fair* streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus,” alongside screenshots of fan reactions.
Using AI for Legal Studies
In a recent interview as part of Vanity Fair’s lie detector test series, Kardashian was interviewed by her *All’s Fair* co-star Teyana Taylor and talked about using ChatGPT for legal advice.
“So when I am needing to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there,” Kardashian admitted. However, she candidly revealed, “They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests all the time. And then I’ll get mad and I’ll yell at it and be like, ‘You made me fail! Why did you do this?’ And it will talk back to me.”
She jokingly referred to ChatGPT as her “frenemy,” describing their back-and-forth interactions where the AI tells her, “This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. You knew the answer all along.”
Looking Ahead
Despite the setback, Kardashian remains committed to passing the bar exam and continuing her legal journey. Her determination and transparency about the challenges she faces have inspired many fans and followers.
