The Democratic Socialists of America’s Big Apple chapter is reportedly preparing to pressure Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to implement a strongly anti-Israel agenda, according to leaked documents. The NYC-DSA’s “Anti-War Working Group” has outlined a dozen “demands” for the incoming administration, including ending all city contracts with companies doing business with Israel and withdrawing city funds from banks lending money to the Jewish state. These details were first revealed by Just The News.

The planning document, a five-page memo distributed at the group’s November 2 public meeting, shows that the NYC chapter of the DSA has been strategizing since at least late September on how to ensure the pro-Palestine, anti-Israel Mamdani fully endorses their agenda once sworn in as mayor in January — and resists any political pressure to moderate his stance.

Among the demands are:
– Divesting city pensions from Israeli bonds and securities.
– Banning Israeli products from city-run grocery stores that Mamdani aims to establish.
– Investigating real estate agents accused of “hosting illegal sales of stolen lands in the West Bank.”
– Revoking tax-exempt status from nonprofits that raise funds for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
– Ending NYPD training programs conducted with Israeli Occupation Forces.
– Arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and active IDF soldiers for “war crimes” if they enter New York City.
– Dismantling an NYC-Israel Economic Council established by outgoing Mayor Eric Adams.

State Assemblyman Kalman Yeger, a conservative Democrat from Brooklyn and an Orthodox Jew, responded sharply to the revelations:
“Well, at least the DSA mask is off,” Yeger said. “This was never about affordability, free buses, or anything else. This was always about Jew hatred. With every municipal issue facing New York City’s government, the DSA doesn’t care about the state of our schools, streets, parks, subways, city budget, or anything else. They care about Israel — Israel and only Israel. At least now they can stop trying to deny their antisemitism; most New Yorkers aren’t stupid.”

Zohran Mamdani, a longtime supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, whose father Mahmood Mamdani sits on an advisory group that frequently accuses Israel of “genocide,” condemned antisemitism on the campaign trail. He also met with some Jewish leaders to garner political support.

Alicia Singham Goodwin, niece of China-based Marxist tycoon Neville “Roy” Singham, serves as the political director of the left-wing nonprofit Jews for Racial and Economic Justice. This group launched a “Jews for Zohran” campaign in January, providing Mamdani with some political cover from accusations of antisemitism, The Post reported in July.

Despite this, Mamdani has refused to soften his longstanding position that Israel should not exist as a Jewish state or to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada,” which calls for Israel’s destruction.

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov (R-Brooklyn) also weighed in, calling Mamdani “Comrade Zohran” and predicting he will be nothing more than a “radical DSA puppet.”
“It was always obvious that he would carry the will of the most radical among us to the highest seat of power in our city,” Vernikov said. “Now we will see what happens when the insane run the asylum.”

As of now, neither Mamdani nor the NYC-DSA has responded to requests for comment.
