Missing South Carolina College Student Owen Kenney Died by Suicide, Cops Say

**Tragic Twist in the Case of Missing College of Charleston Student Owen Kenney**

The case of Owen Kenney, a 19-year-old College of Charleston student who had been missing since the morning of Halloween, has taken a heartbreaking turn. Authorities now confirm that they have video evidence showing Owen dying by suicide after walking onto a bridge.

Owen was last seen on October 31st at 3:49 AM, when surveillance footage captured him walking onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway. The Ravenel Bridge, which connects Charleston with Mt. Pleasant and spans the Cooper River, is now the focus of an ongoing recovery effort.

Following an extensive search in South Carolina to locate Owen, Charleston Police have shifted their focus from search to recovery. An underwater recovery team is currently working to find his remains in the river below the bridge.

Owen was first reported missing on November 1st. The last known photo of him shows Owen wearing a black jacket, black hat, light-colored jeans, and Nike sneakers.

Charleston Police say they are collaborating closely with multiple agencies in their efforts and remain in close contact with Owen’s family. The family is described as “living through unimaginable pain” as they await closure.
