Snapchat (SNAP) announces $400 million deal with Perplexity AI search engine

Snapchat (SNAP) has announced an exciting new collaboration with Perplexity AI, set to launch early next year. This partnership will integrate Perplexity’s AI search engine directly into the Snapchat app, allowing users to interact with the AI companion within the popular photo and video chatting platform.

In a press release today, Snapchat revealed that this integration will enable users to ask questions and receive answers seamlessly within the app. This move builds on Snapchat’s previous introduction of its own AI chatbot service, enhancing the user experience with more advanced AI capabilities.

Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Perplexity’s mission is to support the world’s curiosity. Millions of people connect and discover the world through Snapchat. By bringing Perplexity to Snapchat, we’re able to serve that curiosity directly where it occurs.”

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel added that the company aims “to make AI more personal, social, and fun,” highlighting the strategic importance of AI technology in Snapchat’s evolving platform.

This partnership announcement came alongside Snap’s Q3 2025 earnings report, in which the company surpassed revenue and earnings expectations, marking a strong financial quarter.

With Perplexity AI joining Snapchat, users can look forward to a more interactive and intelligent chat experience in the near future.
