The Nintendo Switch 2 has been exceedingly popular, and Nintendo is confident this trend will continue. Today, the company has updated its hardware sales forecast, projecting nearly 20 million units sold for the Switch 2.
Nintendo released its Q2 FY26 earnings report on November 4, 2025. Within the report, the company revised its forecast for Switch 2 sales, now expecting to sell 19 million units in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
It’s important to note that this fiscal period does not cover a full year, as the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, 2025. Previously, Nintendo had set expectations at 15 million Switch 2 consoles sold. This new forecast reflects a 4 million unit increase since the May 2025 projection.
In addition to the revised sales forecast, Nintendo is ramping up production of the Switch 2 to 25 million units by March 2026, underscoring the company’s confidence in the console’s continued success.
