NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Sam Vidlak threw two touchdown passes, while backup quarterback Gavin Rutherford contributed both a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown, leading Stephen F. Austin to a commanding 41-17 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday night.
Rutherford and Jaylen Jenkins scored 1-yard touchdown runs, which were sandwiched around a 30-yard field goal by Carlos Alvarado, helping Stephen F. Austin maintain control throughout the game. The Lumberjacks dominated from start to finish, posting a wire-to-wire win in this matchup.
