President Trump reportedly said that former Vice President Mike Pence would “go down as a wimp” during a phone call on the day of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots.
According to a new book, Trump made this remark in response to Pence’s decision not to intervene in the certification of the 2020 presidential election results.
“You’ll go down as a wimp,” Trump said to the former vice president, expressing his frustration over Pence’s choice to uphold the constitutional process rather than attempting to stop the certification.
