Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently voiced his criticism of Jade Cargill’s heel turn following the latest episode of SmackDown.
On this week’s show, Tiffany Stratton secured a victory over Kiana James in a singles match, finishing off with her signature move, the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. However, the action quickly escalated when Giulia launched a vicious post-match attack on the WWE Women’s Champion, prompting Jade Cargill to step in and assist Stratton.
What unfolded next surprised many fans. Instead of backing Stratton, Cargill suddenly turned on her, delivering a brutal attack that left Tiffany lying in pain.
During a recent episode of BroDown with host Mac Davis, Vince Russo shared his frustrations with the current WWE programming. He remarked that the show seemed like “one big fight” with wrestlers attacking each other “without any compelling storyline.”
Russo also criticized Jade Cargill’s heel turn, deeming it “unnecessary.” He expressed disbelief at the creative direction under Triple H’s leadership, suggesting the team might need to rely on artificial intelligence to improve storylines and salvage the product.
“Look at this sh*t. What do you guys want me and Mac to talk about for an hour? This show is one big fight. That’s all it is. That guy is attacking this guy, this guy is attacking that guy. We’re gonna turn Jade Cargill heel for no reason. We’re gonna do the Naomi-Jade Cargill storyline with Fatu. I swear to God, Triple H, Paul Heyman, Prichard, Hayes, whoever the hell is involved should drop to their knees and thank God for AI. Thank God for AI because literally AI is the only thing that can save their jobs. That’s the only thing that can save their jobs.”
Meanwhile, Tiffany Stratton remains in considerable pain after the assault. WWE has since scheduled a major match between Stratton and Jade Cargill for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event, raising the stakes for their heated rivalry.
