Old School Runescape Is Introducing a New Skill This November

Set Sail in Old School RuneScape

Jagex Ltd has officially announced that the highly anticipated Sailing skill will set sail in Old School RuneScape on November 19. This marks a major milestone for the beloved MMORPG, introducing the uncharted waters of Gielinor. Players will soon be able to explore, trade, and battle across the seas in their own ships.

The race to reach level 99 returns with this update, offering the exclusive Sailing Skill Cape, designed by community member Gentle Tractor, as a reward for those who master the art of seafaring.

Players will begin their seafaring journey at The Pandemonium, a lively port that serves as home between expeditions. From there, they can learn the ropes and embark on oceanic adventures aboard their own customizable ships.

The update introduces exciting new destinations such as the Great Conch Island, where players will encounter the Troubled Tortugans questline and meet new NPCs. With a spyglass in hand, captains can discover scattered islands and bustling ports, each offering unique tasks and challenges, including the daring Barracuda Trails unlocked at level 30.

The seas hold both danger and reward, as formidable foes like krakens, frost dragons, orcas, and gryphons emerge as new threats. Brave explorers can plunder shipwrecks, solve riddles, and salvage treasures in search of riches and XP.

Shipbuilding becomes an integral part of the experience, allowing players to upgrade and fortify their vessels using materials gathered through other skills such as Woodcutting, Farming, Fishing, and Herblore.

Alongside the new skill come rare rewards, including the Gryphon Pet, Horn of Plenty, Aquanite Hopper, and the exclusive Sailing Skill Pet.

Sailing will be available to RuneScape Members in Old School RuneScape on November 19, across PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, featuring full cross-platform play and progression.
