Top-5 shakeup in the Varsity Maine girls soccer poll

The teams are the same, but the order of the top five is almost completely different from last week in the Varsity Maine girls soccer poll. The only thing that didn’t change is that Falmouth is again tied for second, though with a different team. The catalyst for the shakeup was Camden Hills’ 3-0 win over last week’s No. 1, Bangor. Every other game played by the top five was a victory. Scarborough gained a couple of first-place votes and moved from fourth up to first. The Windjammers received two first-place votes and moved into a tie for second with Falmouth. Unbeaten Cape Elizabeth added a first-place vote it now has three, which is tied with Scarborough for the most but fell from a tie for second to fourth place. Bangor dropped to fifth, but the top five teams are separated only by 10 points. Places six through 10 in the rankings are mostly unchanged from last week, the only difference being last week’s Nos. 9 and 10, Mt. Ararat and Hermon, are tied for ninth. Bangor is the top seed in the Class A North tournament, while Camden Hills is second. Scarborough is No. 1 in A South, and Cape Elizabeth is No. 1 in B South. Hermon is the second seed, behind Medomak Valley, in B North. The Varsity Maine girls soccer poll is based on games played before Oct. 21, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
