This isn’t the same Cheverus field hockey team as in the past couple of years. However, this year’s squad finds itself in the same position as those before it: at the top of the heap, ranking first in the Varsity Maine poll.
The big question now is whether the Stags can once again finish atop Class A at the conclusion of the upcoming postseason.
The rest of the top five remains unchanged from last week. Yarmouth, which completed a perfect regular season, holds second place. Skowhegan is third, Belfast sits fourth, and Biddeford rounds out the top five.
Notable changes include Mt. Ararat moving up from ninth to sixth place, while Mt. Blue returns to the poll at No. 7.
The Varsity Maine field hockey poll reflects games played before October 21, 2025. Rankings are determined by votes from the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes noted in parentheses, followed by total points.
