Broncos ILB Dre Greenlaw suspended one game for ‘verbally threatening’ referee Brad Allen

Dre Greenlaw played one game for the Broncos. Now, he’s been suspended for a game by the NFL.

The league announced on Monday that Greenlaw has been suspended for Denver’s upcoming Sunday home game against Dallas. According to the NFL, “After the conclusion of the Giants-Broncos game, Greenlaw chased after referee Brad Allen and verbally threatened him as he tried to leave the field.”

Greenlaw is appealing the suspension, multiple sources confirmed to The Denver Post, in accordance with the league and NFLPA’s collective bargaining agreement. The appeal is expected to be heard within the next two days, as Denver’s practice week begins to ramp up.

If Greenlaw wins the appeal, he could still face a fine.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
