Giants HC Brian Daboll makes tough admission after Week 7 meltdown vs. Broncos

Brian Daboll didn’t mince words when it came to the New York Giants’ collapse in the 33-32 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.

Going into the game, the Giants held a 2-4 record. After a rough 0-3 start to the season, they bounced back by winning two of their last three games with Jaxson Dart at the helm as the starting quarterback. The team looked to maintain that momentum in their road matchup against the Broncos, nearly pulling off a victory before losing in heartbreaking fashion.

Following the game, Brian Daboll shared his thoughts, per SNY Giants. He described the defeat as a tough one but praised his team’s effort on the field.

“Tough loss. Put our heart and soul into it. Not a lot of talking that needs to be done when you lose a game like that. Everybody gave everything they had,” Daboll said.

### How Brian Daboll and the Giants Performed Against the Broncos

With the loss, Daboll and the Giants fall to 2-5 on the season and will have some self-reflecting to do. They came so close to stunning a playoff-contending team but ultimately fell short.

New York started strong, building a 19-0 lead after three quarters. However, the Broncos surged back in the final 15 minutes, outscoring the Giants 33-13.

Jaxson Dart experienced ups and downs throughout the game but made several big plays. He completed 15 of 33 pass attempts for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Dart also contributed on the ground with 11 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries.

On the ground, Cam Skattebo was the team’s leading rusher, carrying the ball 16 times for 60 yards. He also made three receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown.

Receiving-wise, four players had three or more catches. Wan’Dale Robinson led the group with six receptions for 95 yards. Daniel Bellinger followed with three catches for 88 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Theo Johnson also made three receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown. Skattebo’s three receptions added to the offensive production.

New York will look to bounce back in their upcoming matchup, which remains on the road. The Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles on October 26 at 1 p.m. ET.

With a tough loss behind them, the Giants will need to regroup quickly to keep their season hopes alive as they prepare to take on a strong Eagles squad.
