TwitchCon 2025 keynote announcements include dual-format streams & Meta AI glasses integration

This year marks a major milestone for Twitch’s annual convention: TwitchCon is celebrating its 10th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the streaming giant has kicked off the event with some exciting announcements and new features designed to enhance the Twitch experience for both streamers and viewers.

The festivities began on Friday with the TwitchCon keynote, featuring several company leaders, including CEO Dan Clancy. During the keynote, Clancy unveiled a range of upcoming features aimed at making streaming more accessible and engaging.

One of the most anticipated new features is dual-format streaming, which will allow viewers to easily catch streams whether they’re at home or on the go using the Twitch mobile app. In addition, Twitch is collaborating with Meta to integrate streaming capabilities directly from Meta’s line of AI glasses. This innovative partnership means streamers will soon be able to go live anytime, anywhere—provided they have a strong internet connection.

The integration of Meta AI glasses with Twitch mobile is expected to roll out in the coming months, with beta testing slated to begin as early as next week. This move signifies Twitch’s growing investment in AI technology and its commitment to expanding how users can connect with their audiences.

Beyond streaming technology, TwitchCon 2024 also brought important updates and improvements to the platform’s features and policies. Streamers will benefit from an easier process for securing sponsorships, while medium-sized creators will gain the ability to run their own promotions—further empowering them to grow their channels.

Twitch also announced changes to its community guidelines, aimed at fostering a more welcoming environment. Minor offenses will no longer result in a user’s complete suspension from the platform, allowing for more nuanced moderation.

On the moderation front, Twitch introduced new roles to help streamers better manage their communities. Streamers can now assign Lead Moderator roles, who have the authority to add or remove other moderators at any time. Additionally, Agent roles have been created, granting designated individuals access to a streamer’s analytics and financial information, supporting them in managing their channels more effectively.

With these new features and policy updates, TwitchCon 2024 is setting the stage for a dynamic year ahead for the Twitch community. Whether you’re a creator or a viewer, there’s plenty to look forward to as Twitch continues to innovate and grow.
