EIC programme managers have to handle up to 300 projects each

Programme managers for the European Innovation Council (EIC), who are responsible for envisioning technological breakthroughs and selecting the teams to bring them to life, face a significant workload.

According to the council’s president, Michiel Scheffer, the EIC’s ten programme managers each oversee anywhere from 20 to 300 projects. This wide range highlights the demanding nature of their roles.

Scheffer noted that managing up to 300 projects per manager could be “quite problematic,” underscoring the challenges involved in effectively supervising such a large number of initiatives.
