**Claude’s Technical Usage in India Significantly Higher Than Rest of the World**

Guillaume Princen, Global Head of Start-ups and Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Anthropic, recently revealed that half of the usage of their AI tool, Claude, in India is dedicated to technical purposes. This includes tasks such as user interface (UI) design, code debugging, and software development. This figure stands out when compared to the global average, where only 30% of Claude’s usage is for such technical applications.
### India: Anthropic’s Second Largest Market
India, which hosts the world’s fourth-largest developer community, is Anthropic’s second largest market after the United States. Princen highlighted that about 33% of all Claude conversations worldwide take place in India. This illustrates not only the extensive reach of Anthropic’s services in the country but also the significant role India plays in their global strategy.
### Plans for Expansion in Bengaluru
To further strengthen its foothold, Anthropic plans to open a new office in Bengaluru by the first quarter of 2026. The establishment of this office aims to accelerate the launch of key offerings and provide quicker support to one of its largest user bases.
Princen stated, “You’ll see more of us because we really want to have a local presence.” He emphasized the company’s intention to be closer to its users with dedicated teams across the board to enhance community support.
With these expansion plans, Anthropic is positioning itself to deepen engagement in the Indian market, fostering growth and innovation through its AI tool, Claude.
