**India Beat Pakistan in Match 6 of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup in Colombo**

The Women in Blue secured a commanding victory over Pakistan in Match 6 of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup held in Colombo. India posted a total of 247 runs in their 50 overs despite struggling during the middle overs. Notably, no Indian batter reached a half-century in the first innings.

Pakistan’s innings got off to a poor start, collapsing to 26/3 early on before Sidra Amin tried to steady the ship. However, her valiant effort went in vain as Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 159. With this win, India maintain an unblemished 5-0 record against Pakistan in Women’s ODI World Cups.

### India Falter After a Fine Start

India had an ideal start after being invited to bat. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put together a promising opening partnership of 48 runs. However, Mandhana was dismissed by Fatima Sana, and shortly after, Rawal (31) was taken by Sadia Iqbal, leaving India at 67/2.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Deol then took India past the 100-run mark, but Pakistan’s Diana Baig struck a crucial blow by dismissing Harmanpreet. Following this breakthrough, Pakistan’s spinners tightened their grip and made it difficult for Indian batters to score freely.

### Second Half: India Keep the Scoreboard Ticking

Although Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues put on some good runs to take India beyond 150, both fell in quick succession to Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu respectively. Deol top-scored for India with 46 runs.

Sneh Rana (20) and Deepti Sharma (25) then kept India’s innings moving, contributing vital runs to the total. Richa Ghosh played a cameo unbeaten knock of 35* off 20 balls towards the end, while Kranti Gaud slammed two crucial boundaries to help India reach a competitive total of 247.

### Diana Baig Leads Pakistan’s Bowling Attack

Pakistan’s bowling was spearheaded by Diana Baig who recorded impressive figures of 4/69 in 10 overs. Sadia Iqbal and skipper Fatima Sana also contributed with two wickets apiece. Sana maintained an economical bowling spell with a tidy economy rate of 3.80.

Baig’s 4-wicket haul places her among the best Pakistani bowlers in Women’s ODI World Cup history. According to ESPNcricinfo, she holds the third-best bowling figures by a Pakistani bowler in the tournament, trailing only behind Nida Dar (4/10) and Nashra Sandhu (4/26).

### Pakistan Struggle From the Outset

Pakistan’s innings got off to a disastrous start, losing three wickets for 26 runs by the 12th over. Muneeba Ali’s controversial run-out was a major talking point during their collapse. Sidra Amin emerged as a lone warrior amidst the chaos, building partnerships with Natalia Pervaiz (33) and Sidra Nawaz (14).

However, consecutive dismissals of Nawaz and Rameen Shamim pushed Pakistan into further trouble at 146/7. Amin remained Pakistan’s only hope in the middle but could not prevent their innings from folding.

### Amin’s Half-Century Goes in Vain

Sidra Amin played a valiant knock of 81 runs off 106 balls, including 9 fours and 1 six. Despite her effort, she was dismissed by Sneh Rana in the 40th over. Amin’s performance was remarkable — in 79 WODIs, she has accumulated 2,352 runs at an average of 33.12, striking at 64.06. This innings marked her 13th half-century in WODI cricket, alongside six centuries to her name.

### Kranti Gaud: Player of the Match

Kranti Gaud was adjudged Player of the Match for her outstanding bowling performance. She delivered a disciplined spell of 10 overs, taking 3 wickets for just 20 runs, including three maidens. Gaud’s best moment came when she dismissed Aliya Riaz, having wisely retained the second slip.

While Deepti Sharma also took three wickets, Sneh Rana contributed with two vital scalps, helping India tighten the noose on Pakistan’s batting lineup.

### Winning Streak Against Pakistan Continues

With this victory, India have now won five consecutive matches against Pakistan in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup and remain undefeated against them in this tournament. Overall, India hold a dominant 12-0 record against Pakistan in Women’s One Day Internationals.

India’s clinical performance in Colombo reaffirms their status as one of the frontrunners in the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup, while Pakistan will look to regroup and come back stronger in their upcoming matches.
