Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded United States President Donald Trump for his pivotal role in brokering peace in Gaza, following Hamas’s acceptance of parts of Trump’s 20-point peace plan.

In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “We welcome President Trump’s leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress.” He highlighted that the release of hostages marks a significant step toward achieving a lasting and just peace. Modi expressed hope that all parties involved would support the initiative to end the conflict and secure peace in the region.

This endorsement was later reshared by Trump on his Truth Social platform without any additional comments.

**Hamas Accepts Parts of Trump’s Peace Plan**

On Friday night, Hamas agreed to key components of Trump’s peace plan, which includes ending the war and welcoming Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza. The plan also calls for the release of both Israeli hostages and Palestinian captives, emphasizes the need for aid and recovery efforts, and opposes the expulsion of Palestinians from the territory.

The acceptance came just hours after Trump issued a stern ultimatum, demanding acceptance by Sunday or warning of “all hell” to follow.

**Trump Calls for Immediate Ceasefire**

Following Hamas’s acceptance, Trump urged Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.” He expressed confidence that Hamas is prepared for “lasting peace,” stressing that the resolution extends beyond Gaza to achieving long-sought peace throughout the Middle East.

Trump also thanked nations including Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan for their vital roles in facilitating the peace deal.

**Hope for Safe Return of Hostages**

In a heartfelt video message, Trump conveyed his hope for the safe return of hostages to their families. Acknowledging the challenging conditions some hostages face, he emphasized the importance of reuniting them with loved ones.

Calling the day “very special,” Trump affirmed that all parties involved share a unified desire for peace in the Middle East and said that the region is now “very close to achieving it.”
