Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Receives Hoax Bomb Threat; Probe Launched

**Bomb Threats in Chennai Prompt Heightened Security Measures**

Chennai: Security has been significantly tightened in Tamil Nadu’s capital following a bomb threat received by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday. Upon receiving the threat, senior police officials, bomb disposal squads, and sniffer dogs promptly arrived at the location to conduct an extensive search. Fortunately, nothing suspicious was found. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.

In addition to the Chief Minister’s threat, bomb threats were also reported at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) headquarters and at actor Trisha’s residence, situated in Chennai’s Teynampet area, according to News18.

The series of threats began on Thursday night when a mysterious email was sent to the Chennai Airport Manager’s Office, claiming that powerful bombs had been hidden inside garbage bins at the airport and would explode. Upon receiving this email, airport officials immediately alerted the Chennai Airport Director. An emergency security meeting was convened at midnight, attended by senior airport authorities, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) officials, CISF officers, airline representatives, and airport police, as reported by ANI.

After thorough checks, the bomb threat at the airport was confirmed to be a hoax, as no suspicious items were found. A formal complaint has been lodged at the Chennai Airport Police Station, and a case has been registered. Police are actively investigating to identify the group responsible for this false alarm.

This is not the first time Chief Minister Stalin has been targeted with such threats. Earlier, on August 15, he received a bomb threat just before the flag hoisting ceremony. Police acted swiftly and arrested the individual who made the call. Similarly, in July, a bomb threat call was made to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s residence.

Authorities continue to remain vigilant and are enhancing security protocols across key locations in Chennai to prevent any untoward incidents.
