**FSL Confirms Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar Did Not Consume Narcotics in Kharadi Party Case**
Pune: The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has confirmed that Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar, accused in the Kharadi party case and son-in-law of senior NCP leader Eknath Khadse, did not consume narcotics. Officials confirmed this on Wednesday after conducting a medical-legal analysis of his blood samples, which found no trace of drugs.
This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing Kharadi Rave Party case, which has garnered considerable political and public attention, sparking reactions and criticisms across various circles.
### Background of the Case
The case dates back to July 25, when Pune Police raided a hotel party in Kharadi. During the raid, authorities claimed to have seized 2.07 grams of cocaine, 70 grams of cannabis-like substances, hookah equipment, mobile phones, alcohol bottles, and two vehicles. Alongside Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar, six others were arrested: Nikhil Popatani, Sameer Fakir, Mahmand Sayyed, Sachin Bhombe, Shripad Yadav, Isha Singh, and Prachi Sharma.
Following the raid, the accused were taken into custody. Dr. Khewalkar was granted bail on September 25. However, the chargesheet submitted in court includes the FSL report, which clarifies that he was not under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
### Ongoing Investigation
While the FSL findings provide relief to Dr. Khewalkar, Pune Police continue to investigate the alleged possession and supply of narcotics during the event. The case remains politically sensitive due to Khewalkar’s family connection to Eknath Khadse.
Apart from drug-related allegations, concerns were also raised regarding problematic content found on Dr. Khewalkar’s mobile phone. These claims were made by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Maharashtra State Commission for Women President Rupali Chakankar during a media interaction in Pune following Dr. Khewalkar’s arrest.
Pune Police are currently probing this aspect of the case further to ascertain the full scope of the allegations.
