The Indian Railways has launched seven new trains in Bihar as of Monday, aiming to enhance connectivity across the state and promote economic growth. Notably, the new fleet includes three Amrit Bharat Express trains that link Bihar with various locations across India. All seven trains will be operated and maintained by the East Central Railway (ECR) zone.

### Connectivity Boost Within Bihar and Beyond

Out of the seven new trains, four will run exclusively within Bihar, connecting major cities and towns to facilitate easier travel for residents. The remaining three—the Amrit Bharat Express trains—will operate on longer routes, connecting the state with other parts of the country.

This expansion is expected to provide affordable and convenient travel options, especially catering to low and middle-income families. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted this point, emphasizing the initiative’s role in making travel more accessible.

### Inaugural Event and Official Launch

The new trains were flagged off from Patna Junction by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw participated in the event via video conferencing, giving the symbolic green flag for the launch.

Ahead of the inauguration, Vaishnaw announced the commencement of the three new Amrit Bharat Express trains on social media platform X, stating, “Starting from tomorrow, 3 new Amrit Bharat Express trains will begin operations.”

The launch comes at a significant time as the dates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections are expected to be finalized soon.
