Siddhartha Sharma, the long-time manager of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, has finally spoken out following a recent Special Investigation Team (SIT) raid at his residence.

In a detailed statement posted on Facebook, Sharma clarified the ownership of Garg’s extensive musical catalog. He revealed that most of Garg’s 38,000 recorded tracks are owned by various production houses and music companies. Sharma also shared that in 2021, Garg established a limited liability partnership (LLP) to gain ownership of some of his later works.

**“Zubeen lamented how he was shortchanged”**

Sharma explained, “Almost all of Zubeen da’s songs, even the biggest blockbusters, were created before I entered his life. He often lamented how he was shortchanged, with producers and labels earning crores while he received only modest payments. This can be verified with those companies directly.”

He further noted that the LLP recently formed has not generated significant income.

**LLP Ownership and Earnings**

Sharma revealed that Garg owned 60% of the LLP and emphasized his commitment to ensuring that Garg’s family inherits this stake. “The LLP has generated only a few thousand rupees monthly so far. The entire amount remains in the company account, with no withdrawals. Zubeen da owned 60% of the firm, and I consider it my duty to ensure that his family rightfully inherits this stake,” Sharma stated.

**Denial of Exploitation Allegations**

Addressing circulating rumors, Sharma firmly denied any allegations of exploiting Garg’s trust or finances. “These rumors are baseless and deeply hurtful. I have cooperated fully with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing his death and will continue to do so,” he added.

Sharma also appealed to Garg’s fans, urging them not to spread misinformation. “Let the investigation proceed without fear or prejudice. We owe it to Zubeen da’s memory to pursue truth with dignity,” he said.

**Investigation Update**

The SIT raided Sharma’s residence in Guwahati’s Datalpara area on Friday. Officials reportedly waited outside the premises for nearly two hours before commencing their search. When they arrived, Sharma’s apartment was locked, and authorities had to break the lock in the presence of a magistrate to carry out the investigation.

The statement comes in the aftermath of the tragic demise of Zubeen Garg, who passed away on September 19 in Singapore due to a drowning incident.
