New Movies Streaming

War Machine (2026)

Alan Ritchson, known for his larger-than-life portrayal of the protagonist in Prime Video’s “Reacher,” makes a compelling jump to movies with Netflix’s “War Machine.” Ritchson plays a soldier suffering from PTSD who nevertheless excels at Army Ranger training. When he embarks on a final exercise, his team discovers a seemingly unstoppable war machine intent on obliterating anything in its path.

Zootopia 2 (2025)

With the 2026 Oscars coming up this Sunday, now is your last chance to watch all of the nominated movies. The final film to arrive on streaming services ahead of the ceremony this week is Disney’s “Zootopia 2.” The film reunites Nick (Jason Bateman) and Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) on the police force, where they struggle to adapt as partners. Despite warnings from their chief (Idris Elba), the duo sticks their fluffy noses where they don’t belong, uncovering a mystery that traces back to the origins of the massive animal city.

New TV Shows Streaming

One Piece Season 2

Of Netflix’s recent attempts to adapt iconic anime shows—including “Cowboy Bebop” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender”—“One Piece” has fared the best. This nautical adventure follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his band of pirate pals. In Season 2, which barely scratches the surface of the extensive source material, Luffy and the Straw Hats navigate the dangerous waters of the Grand Line, encountering strange islands and even stranger adversaries.

Rooster (2026)

Unlike last week’s new show about campus intrigue, Netflix’s “Vladimir,” HBO’s “Rooster” leans primarily into comedy rather than scandal. Steve Carell stars as Greg Russo, an author needing a fresh start after his divorce. He finds it on the college campus where his daughter (Charly Clive) works. Despite being a successful beach-read author, Carell’s character never attended college, allowing him to be the big man on campus and offer guidance to Katie after her professor husband (Phil Dunster) leaves her for a grad student. Created by Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Scrubs”), the show balances broad comedy with surprising heart.

Scarpetta (2026)

Nicole Kidman is everywhere these days, and now she stars as a chief medical examiner investigating a murder linked to her very first case from decades ago. Based on the best-selling novel series by Patricia Cornwell, the show also features supporting roles from Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, and Ariana DeBose.
