Davis’ 18 lead Morgan State past South Carolina State 72-67

BALTIMORE (AP) — Elijah Davis scored 18 points to lead Morgan State to a 72-67 victory over South Carolina State on Saturday. Davis also contributed six assists for the Bears, who improved to 4-12 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Rob Lawson added 17 points for Morgan State, shooting 6 for 12 from the field, including 2 for 5 from three-point range, and making 3 of 6 free throws. Alfred Worrell Jr. finished with 14 points on 5 for 12 shooting, including 3 for 9 from beyond the arc.

Jayden Johnson led South Carolina State with 23 points, five assists, and two steals. The Bulldogs fell to 2-15 overall and 1-1 in conference play despite solid contributions from Florian Tenebay, who recorded 10 points and seven rebounds. Cameron Clark also added eight points and four assists for South Carolina State.
