Duval Relishes in Jaguars’ Monster Win Over Broncos

The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to prove the doubters wrong. Ahead of their Week 16 matchup with the Denver Broncos, FS1’s Kevin Wildes expressed that he, along with much of the American public, didn’t care about the Jaguars. But while some may overlook this team, it’s time to start fearing Head Coach Liam Coen and his red-hot squad.

The Jaguars marched into Mile High Stadium and came away with a resounding 34-20 upset victory over the Broncos. With this win, Jacksonville extended its winning streak to six games, maintained its lead over the Houston Texans in the AFC South, and positioned itself to potentially earn the No. 1 seed in the conference along with a coveted first-round bye. Fans couldn’t be happier.

### Jaguars Absolutely Dominated

Jacksonville entered the game as slight underdogs against Denver. While both teams were poised for the playoffs, neither was seen among the top contenders, largely due to doubts surrounding their quarterbacks. The Jaguars managed to mostly contain Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, while Trevor Lawrence continued his breakout season with another stellar performance.

Lawrence finished with 279 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-36 passing, playing a clean game in one of the toughest road environments in the NFL. He also added 20 rushing yards and a touchdown on six carries, showcasing his dual-threat capability.

With Denver’s defense, led by Vance Joseph, focusing heavily on Jacksonville’s top receivers Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr., Lawrence spread the ball around. He found seven different receivers throughout the game, with Parker Washington standing out by hauling in six catches for 145 yards and a touchdown.

### Defense and Turnovers

While Jacksonville’s offense was the star of the show, effectively dismantling Denver’s elite defense, the Jaguars’ defense had a strong showing as well. Bo Nix threw for over 350 yards but needed 47 attempts to get there. Jacksonville’s defense forced two turnovers and two turnovers on downs, keeping Denver’s offense from gaining momentum.

### A Sour Ending

The game ended on a somber note for football fans. Late in the game, Nix found Pat Bryant on a deep crossing route, but Montaric Brown delivered a hard, clean hit that immediately took Bryant off the field. Although the hit was ruled legal by referees, Bryant had to be carted off, raising concerns about his health.
