**Iowa Hawkeyes Fall to UConn Huskies 64-90 at Women’s Champions Classic**

*Brooklyn, New York* – The Iowa Hawkeyes suffered a tough loss against the No. 1 ranked UConn Huskies, falling 64-90 in the Shark Beauty Women’s Champions Classic on Saturday evening. With the defeat, Iowa’s record now stands at 10-2.

The game started with UConn establishing a strong presence in the first quarter, building a double-digit lead and leaving the Hawkeyes trailing 12-22. Despite a determined effort, Iowa could only manage 19 points along with three turnovers in the second quarter, heading into halftime down 31-42.

UConn came out aggressively in the third quarter, scoring the first six points and effectively putting the game out of reach. However, Iowa saw some standout performances from their squad.

Senior Hannah Stuelke led the Hawkeyes with 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists. She was closely followed by sophomore Chit-Chat Wright, who contributed 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Overall, Iowa shot an impressive 49 percent from the field and 47 percent from beyond the arc, showcasing their offensive capabilities despite the loss.

The Hawkeyes will return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday, December 28, at 3 p.m. CST to host the Penn State Nittany Lions.
