BLAINE — The Willmar WarHawks fell 4-3 to the Minnesota Moose, one of the top teams in the NA3HL’s West Division, on Sunday at Fogarty Arena.
Willmar rallied twice to tie the game but ultimately lost with 2:52 remaining, as the Moose’s Carsen Gause scored the game-winning goal. It was Gause’s second goal of the game. The forward hails from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Charlie Marchand also contributed two goals for Minnesota.
For Willmar, Gabe Adams tied the game at 2-2 with a power-play goal at 7:20 of the second period. Adams, a forward from Bellevue, Nebraska, has tallied 10 goals and five assists in 18 games this season.
After Minnesota regained a 3-2 lead, Mikko Brown evened the score again at 16:34 of the third period. This marked Brown’s first goal of the season, complementing his 10 assists in 10 games for the WarHawks.
Willmar will take on the Granite City Lumberjacks at 7:10 p.m. on Friday at the Willmar Civic Center Arena.
