Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has refused to back down or apologize amid explosive new reports alleging that, under his orders, military officials deliberately fired on survivors of suspected drug trafficking ships that had already been neutralized. Hegseth, who controversially refers to himself as the “Secretary of War” following an unofficial department name change enacted by an executive order from President Donald Trump, responded with a statement criticizing the media. However, he did not deny any of the reported claims.
