Harmer tossed one up outside off, and as Pant pressed forward in defence, the ball gripped, turned away, and bounced extra. It hit the splice of his bat and lobbed towards slip, where Aiden Markram completed the catch, his seventh of the match. The Proteas continued their strong showing with the bat in the second innings, declaring at 260/5 in 78. 3 overs. Tristan Stubbs led the charge with a solid 94 off 180 deliveries, setting India a daunting target of 549. Facing a daunting challenge, India’s openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) and KL Rahul (6) fell early, leaving the hosts at 27/2 at stumps on Day 4, with Sai Sudharsan (2) and Kuldeep Yadav (4) unbeaten. On Day 5, Simon Harmer struck twice in the same over, dismissing Kuldeep (5) and Dhruv Jurel (2) to reduce India to 42/4. Soon after, Rishabh Pant also fell, leaving India five down.
