Cullman County Parks and Recreation Director Kenneth Cornelius said the ribbon cutting, which took place Thursday, Nov. 20, was wonderful this year with much support from the community. “We had (Cullman County) commissioners, council members and other leaders from all over our great city and county it was a huge crowd to kick off our opening of the Sportsman Lake Winter Wonderland,” he said. “This is going to be the best and biggest year yet. We have added some new displays throughout the park while keeping the old-fashion favorites.” Cornelius said everyone needs to come and see if they can pick out the new additions. “We are looking for over 12, 000 visitors hopefully this year with all the Christmas spirit we have here in Cullman to offer our citizens and others across our great state,” Cornelius said. “I have worked with (Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Executive Director) Nathan Anderson to help each of our attractions become better each year. We have a magical place here in Cullman County and we take it to another level at Christmas.” Cornelius wanted to thank the Winter Wonderland sponsors Visit Cullman, Havoline Xpress Lube, Jack’s Western and Outdoor Wear, RusCorr and Traditions Bank.
