NATO Ally Says ‘Worst Suspicions’ Confirmed After Railroad Bomb Attack

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has confirmed that the “worst suspicions have been confirmed” following an act of sabotage along the Warsaw to Lublin railway route. According to Tusk, a bomb destroyed a section of the rail track.

“An explosion of an explosive device destroyed the railway track,” Tusk said in a post on X, originally in Polish. Emergency services and the prosecutor’s office are currently working at the scene to assess the situation.

Additional damage was also reported on the same route, closer to Lublin.

Poland, a NATO ally, has not immediately identified who it suspects to be behind the sabotage. However, the country has previously accused Russia of involvement in similar incidents, allegations that Moscow has denied.
