1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata 5-Speed at No Reserve

This 1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata was acquired by the current owner in 2007 and has spent time in both California and Texas. The body is finished in Sunburst Yellow over black cloth seats, complemented by a black convertible soft top. Power comes from a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The car features 14″ Daisy alloy wheels wrapped in 185/60 Falken Sincera tires, with one tire repaired in 2022. Additional equipment includes power steering, an independent double wishbone suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, four-wheel disc brakes, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a Pioneer CD stereo, and air conditioning. The air conditioning system was serviced as recently as May 2022.

Cosmetic details include pop-up headlights, chrome door handles, painted mirror caps, and a single exhaust outlet. The convertible top is a replacement black soft top installed in 2006.

The seller reports that the front bumper cover, a headlight, and the hood were repaired following an accident. A collision in October 2024 caused damage to the left rear wheel and left quarter panel; the quarter panel was replaced and the left door repaired. Minor imperfections include a dent near the soft top and some dings along the body.

Inside, the cabin features black cloth bucket seats and color-coordinated door panels. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.

The six-digit odometer shows 152,000 miles, approximately 70,000 of which were added under the current ownership. The Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollback in July 2022, but the seller attributes this to a clerical error.

Regarding maintenance, service in 2019 included replacing the timing belt, water pump, crankshaft and camshaft seals, and camshaft position sensor. The spark plugs and rear main seal were replaced in July 2022. The five-speed manual transmission also received a replacement front seal in July 2022, along with an overhaul of the clutch kit and slave cylinder. A fluid leak and worn transmission synchros are noted.

This NA Miata is offered at no reserve, accompanied by a repair manual and a clean Texas title registered in the name of the seller’s spouse. It presents a solid opportunity to own a well-maintained and character-rich example of Mazda’s iconic roadster.
