Crash-and-grab thieves slam stolen car into Garfield Park business: VIDEO

CHICAGO (WLS) – Chicago police have issued a warning about a string of “crash-and-grab” burglaries targeting retail businesses on the city’s Northwest and West sides. New video released by authorities shows the suspects driving a stolen car straight through the front of a store to gain entry.

According to investigators, once inside the premises, the suspects load up on merchandise such as clothing and shoes before fleeing the scene in a second stolen vehicle, which appears to be a van. So far, at least two businesses in Garfield Park and Humboldt Park have been hit.

The incidents occurred at the following times and locations:
• 4000-block of West Madison Street on November 8 at 4:48 a.m.
• 800-block of North Kedzie Avenue on November 10 at 4:00 a.m.

Police describe the suspects as males between 15 and 19 years old, each weighing approximately 110–150 pounds. All were dressed in black clothing and wearing black face masks.
