Iowa Wrestling Returns to Action at the National Duals Invitational
The third-ranked Iowa wrestling squad is set to return to action this weekend with a trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the inaugural National Duals Invitational inside the BOK Center, presented by Paycom.
Iowa (1-0) opened its season impressively with a dominant 40-0 shutout victory over Bellarmine on November 6th. The dual took place on the Mediacom Mat at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, where the Hawkeyes recorded 31 takedowns compared to Bellarmine’s single takedown. Iowa secured five bonus-point wins, closing out the dual with four matches ending early. The Hawkeyes outscored the Knights by a wide margin in total match points, 120-27.
Matchup and Schedule
Iowa opens the National Duals Invitational against No. 16 Missouri (3-0) in Session 1. Historically, the Hawkeyes hold a 4-2 all-time record against the Tigers. Their most recent meeting took place in 2015 during the National Dual finals, which Missouri won 18-12.
If Iowa tops Missouri, they will move on to face the winner of No. 15 Illinois (1-0) versus No. 22 Little Rock (2-0) at 5 p.m. CT during Session 2.
