NVIDIA announces GeForce Now app for Linux PCs

NVIDIA is bringing GeForce Now, its popular cloud game streaming service, to Linux. The new native app will enable users to stream games at high resolution and framerates, providing a premium gaming experience on the Linux platform.

The GeForce Now Linux app was officially announced at CES, highlighting NVIDIA’s commitment to supporting the Linux operating system. Designed specifically for Linux, the app supports gaming at up to 5K resolution and 120 frames per second. Impressively, some games can reach frame rates as high as 360 FPS on maximum settings.

A trailer released by NVIDIA showcases gameplay footage of titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Arc Raiders running smoothly on the GeForce Now Linux app. This move is particularly noteworthy since Linux is the operating system behind Valve’s Steam Deck, as well as the upcoming Steam Machine and Steam Frame devices.

With NVIDIA’s GeForce Now now extending support to Linux, gamers using these devices can look forward to an enhanced cloud gaming experience with stunning visuals and fluid performance.
