The lawsuit filed against Conor McGregor over allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman following a 2023 NBA Finals game has been dismissed, according to The Athletic.
The plaintiff requested the dismissal in U.S. District Court, per the publication. Senior Judge Joan A. Lenard of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice on December 3, meaning the woman cannot refile the case in the future.
A representative for both the plaintiff and McGregor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The woman, described in the lawsuit as a 49-year-old executive, claimed McGregor assaulted her in the bathroom of the Kaseya Center on June 9, 2023, after Game 4 of the Miami Heat’s NBA Finals series against the Denver Nuggets.
The lawsuit was initially filed in January 2025. The plaintiff also sued the employees of the arena where the alleged attack took place, accusing staff and security of having “actual knowledge of the wrongfulness of the conduct” and failing to protect her.
McGregor has denied the allegations. In a previous statement to Rolling Stone, McGregor’s attorney, Barbara Llanes, referenced a 2023 criminal investigation into the claims, stating, “the State’s Attorney concluded that there was no case to pursue.” She added, “Almost two years and at least three lawyers later the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case too will be dismissed.”
