When it comes to a baby’s first Christmas, most parents hope to make it joyful and bright. At that age, the child might not remember the moment, but it can still leave a lasting impression when they are older—especially if they still have that first gift or an ornament marking the year of the event.
A baby’s first Christmas is a milestone not just for the child, but also for the parents who get to share the holiday joy with the newest member of their family. Stories created from these milestones are often told every year as the holiday rolls around, bringing warmth during the chilly months and providing a bright spot in what can sometimes be difficult times.
One mother hopes her child will wake up on his first Christmas to find gifts beneath the tree. “I want him to know about Christmas and how important this holiday is for our family,” she wrote. Having just given birth, she is currently unable to work, making the holiday season even more challenging.
Thanks to the help of Item Santa, this mother can give her son something special this year and bring some much-needed holiday cheer as they celebrate their first-ever Christmas together.
Now in its 59th year, the Item Santa Fund continues to brighten Christmas for local residents who need support the most. If you would like to contribute, please clip the coupon in The Daily Item and send it with your check to:
