WWE legend believes major controversy prevented him from working with John Cena

A WWE legend believes he would’ve worked with John Cena if not for a major controversy. This legend is now retired. Ad Bret Hart was one of the biggest stars in the WWE during the 1990s. He was a multi-time WWE Champion. Unfortunately, the Montreal Screwjob in 1997 ran him out of the company. Hart held a lot of resentment towards the sports entertainment juggernaut and Vince McMahon for the incident for several years. He seemingly buried the hatchet with Vince when he returned in 2010 for a brief run with the company. Thanks for the submission! During a recent interview with Johnny I Pro Show, Bret Hart wondered what it would’ve been like to work with Cena during his US-Canada storyline, where he was a heel in the US and a babyface in Canada. He also believes that if the Montreal Screwjob didn’t happen, he would’ve worked with the 17-time World Champion. Ad Trending “Oh yeah, John Cena would be up [on the list of guys I wish to wrestle]. Can you imagine Cena with the US-Canada thing that I had going? Boy, it would have been.” Hart wondered. “Hypothetically, somehow, if the Montreal Screwjob never happened and I was still in WWE, that would have happened. I would have worked with John Cena, and he would have done amazing stuff.” [H/T Inside The Ropes] Ad Ad Bret Hart draws comparison between himself and John Cena Throughout his WWE run, Cena was known for being one of the hardest workers in the company. This garnered him a lot of respect from the fans and his colleagues. His professionalism is something that even caught the eye of Bret Hart. During the same interview, the WWE legend said that he has always been impressed with Cena. He even noted that the Last Real Champion was very similar to him in the sense that they are both serious professionals. He recalled how Cena focused on every minute detail of his match, much like Hart used to do. Ad “I was always been really impressed with John Cena. I’ll just say this. When I was back there in 2010, when I wrestled Vince and all that stuff, I found out that Cena was very comparable and similar to me in the sense that he was a serious professional. He was a detail guy that went over every little detail of the match. I remember watching him go over the match with different wrestlers. So just being around him, I remember going, ‘That’s what I used to do.’ [.] I found John Cena to be such a professional, and I would have loved to work with him.” It would’ve been interesting to see Bret Hart feud with Cena in WWE. × Feedback Why did you not like this content?
