Valve revealed its next batch of at-home hardware on Wednesday, introducing a new take on the Steam Machine—a gaming PC designed to be used like a console. Alongside this, Valve also unveiled the Steam Frame, their upcoming VR headset, and a new Steam Controller. All of these products are planned to ship in early 2026.
The cube-shaped Steam Machine will come preloaded with Steam OS and is optimized for gaming performance. It is designed to fit seamlessly into your entertainment setup, whether placed by your TV like a traditional game console or on your desk as a powerful gaming PC. Because it is a PC, users will have the flexibility to install other applications, programs, or even a different operating system if they wish.
Under the hood, the Steam Machine is equipped with a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 processor featuring 6 cores and 12 threads (up to 4.8 GHz, 30W TDP), along with a semi-custom AMD RDNA3 GPU boasting 28 compute units and a max sustained clock of 2.45 GHz (110W TDP). It also includes 16GB of DDR5 system memory and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM for smooth gaming experiences.
There will be two storage options available: a 512 GB model and a 2 TB model. Both versions feature slots for high-speed microSD cards, allowing you to expand your storage capacity easily.
