A controversial Russian cryptocurrency businessman has died after crashing his $400,000 Lamborghini in northern Moscow. The alleged Bitcoin millionaire had accumulated hundreds of unpaid traffic fines, authorities revealed—many of which were for speeding.
### Russian Crypto Figure Dies in High-Speed Lamborghini Crash
Crypto entrepreneur Alexei Dolgikh died in a high-speed car accident on a major traffic artery in the Russian capital, according to local media reports. Another man also lost his life in the crash, while two others were hospitalized with severe injuries following the terrifying incident on Sunday.
The city prosecutor’s office disclosed that Dolgikh, driving his Lamborghini Urus, “hit an obstacle” on Mezhdunarodnoe Highway shortly after midnight. Moscow’s traffic police reported that he lost control of the luxury SUV, which rolled over and burst into flames. This information was cited by RBC and RTVI.
According to the Telegram channel *Mash*, which shared a dashcam video of the aftermath, the Lamborghini was traveling at around 150 km/h when Dolgikh failed to negotiate a turn and collided with a guardrail. Another source, *Shot*, claimed Dolgikh flipped the vehicle at 100 km/h—still double the speed limit at the exit to Leningradskoye Highway.
Parts of the Urus were scattered around the nearby bridge after the car knocked down a CCTV camera pole. A wad of 5,000-ruble bills was reportedly found near the wreckage.
### Victims and Injuries
Telegram channel *Baza*, thought to have ties to Russian security agencies, confirmed that 36-year-old Alexei Dolgikh died instantly at the scene. The second deceased victim was identified as Ivan Solovyov.
Two other men were injured: 21-year-old Nikita Tezikov suffered an open leg fracture, while 22-year-old Kirill Mochalov was taken to Botkin Hospital with multiple fractures.
### Dolgikh’s Unpaid Debts and Traffic Violations
The Russian crypto businessman purchased the Lamborghini Urus for 35 million rubles (over $430,000) in August 2024, *Baza* reported. Since then, he accumulated hundreds of traffic fines.
According to *Shot*, Dolgikh had received 586 penalties, nearly all related to speeding. The Telegram channel *Mash* added that some fines were for driving without wearing a seatbelt. Most of these fines were forwarded to the Federal Bailiff Service.
TASS news agency, citing law enforcement sources, stated Dolgikh had around 230 unpaid tickets totaling over 1.3 million rubles (approximately $16,000). They confirmed speeding was the cause of the crash and revealed that Dolgikh was burdened with a large amount of debt, including unpaid traffic fines.
Documents obtained by TASS indicated Dolgikh had 240 enforcement proceedings against him, covering traffic violations, loan debts, and other matters.
### Past Incident: Shootout Involving Lamborghini
In September of the previous year, Dolgikh and his Lamborghini were involved in a shootout at a high-end restaurant in Moscow’s affluent Presnensky District. *Shot* reported that the luxury vehicle served as the getaway car following the incident at Patriarch’s Ponds park.
According to *Moskovskiy Komsomolets* daily, a group of men started harassing a woman at the Aist restaurant. Another group intervened, firing several shots before fleeing the scene in Dolgikh’s Lamborghini, with him behind the wheel.
Dolgikh was wanted by Moscow police but eventually surrendered, admitting his presence but claiming he left before the shooting began. Two other men were arrested and charged with hooliganism.
RTVI highlighted reports from *Shot* that Dolgikh was also suspected of money laundering and blacklisted by Russian banks.
### Cryptocurrency Sector Mourns Yet Another Loss
Alexei Dolgikh’s fatal crash marks the fourth tragic death to impact the Russian crypto scene in recent weeks.
Last week, Russian media detailed the gruesome murder of alleged crypto scammer Roman Novak and his wife Anna in Dubai, where kidnappers killed them in October.
Earlier in November, Fatih Özer, founder and CEO of the failed Turkish crypto exchange Thodex, was found dead in his prison cell from an apparent suicide, raising questions across Turkey, as reported by Cryptopolitan.
