With the Nintendo Switch 2 having been out for a few months, there aren’t many people we’d like to hear more thoughts from than former (and legendary) Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé.
Fils-Aimé recently spoke about the Switch 2’s launch and how it has performed so far, applauding many of the decisions that have been made. However, there is one aspect that remains a headscratcher for him: he doesn’t understand why Xbox hasn’t been more aggressive in porting its games to the platform.
Reggie Fils-Aimé shared these insights and more during a recent episode of The Game Business Show with Christopher Dring. When asked about the Switch 2’s launch, Fils-Aimé offered several thoughts, but the one that stood out was his take on what he perceives as a lukewarm approach to software support on the new platform.
Dring pointed out that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 has made its way to Switch 2, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is expected to arrive on the platform soon. However, he admitted that Xbox’s presence on the Switch 2 has been very light — which is surprising given that creating games for Switch was a key condition imposed by trade authorities to approve Xbox’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
This situation leaves fans wondering whether Xbox will ramp up its support for the Switch 2 in the near future.
