Dolphins’ De’Von Achane calls game and hammers Bills into dirt with stunning TD run

The Miami Dolphins have not had the best season, and they’ve had very few moments to be proud of so far. When those moments do come, it’s important to recognize them — and that’s exactly what happened in the fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bills.

With the Dolphins already up by 10 points midway through the quarter, they seemed to seal the deal when De’Von Achane broke off a 59-yard touchdown run. That play all but put the game away. Achane didn’t stop there; he scored another long touchdown with around three minutes left in the game.

It was a big night for Achane and a much-needed victory for the Dolphins after a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week. Following that defeat, the Dolphins and their general manager parted ways, signaling what many felt could be the beginning of the end for the team, especially as the trade deadline approached.

Despite this, the Dolphins made very few moves at the deadline, indicating they will likely stick with the current roster through the end of the season. Perhaps even bigger news surfaced later in the week: head coach Mike McDaniel will remain at the helm and is expected to coach through the remainder of the season.

This win against a divisional rival like the Bills — a team that has often had the Dolphins’ number — is a positive way to bounce back amid a tumultuous season. The hope now is that Miami can build on this strong performance.

Moving forward, both the offense and defense will have to consistently step up each week to maintain this level of play and produce more wins. If the recent organizational changes can help spark further improvement, the Dolphins may yet salvage something positive from this challenging season.
