Honolulu police arrested a 43-year-old man early this morning following an alleged assault in Waikiki.
At approximately 12:21 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of an assault in front of the Waikiki Beachside Hostel on Lemon Road. According to a Honolulu Police Department news release, the suspect reportedly assaulted a 50-year-old male visitor “without provocation.”
The victim sustained severe head injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police have not released any further information regarding his condition.
The 43-year-old suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
