It took some time before the highly anticipated showdown between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Takeru Segawa in ONE Championship finally went down. But when it did, the Thai superstar made sure he was at the winning end of it.
The clash took place back in March at ONE 172, in front of Takeru’s hometown fans in Japan. ‘The Iron Man’ only needed 80 seconds to take out ‘The Natural Born Crusher’ in their flyweight kickboxing superfight, scoring a solid left hook that sent the Japanese legend down to the canvas and left him unable to continue.
Rodtang was on top of things right from the get-go, putting pressure on his opponent with punishing leg kicks. This relentless attack eventually led to a flurry of punches and the telling left hook that ended the night for Takeru.
ONE Championship recently uploaded the full fight on its official YouTube channel, which now has over 60,000 views, allowing fans to relive the thrilling encounter. Check out the video below:

The loss was a disappointing end for Takeru, who had made it known that he wanted to face and defeat Rodtang ever since he joined ONE Championship in 2023, following his stellar run at K-1.

### Rodtang Returns to Japan to Reclaim Flyweight Muay Thai Gold
Rodtang is set to return to Japan later this month, aiming to reclaim the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title he previously held for a long time. The 28-year-old Jitmuangnon Gym standout will compete for the currently vacant flyweight gold at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on November 16.
He will face fellow Thai superstar Nong-O Hama in the marquee showdown, part of a stacked event taking place at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
Rodtang lost the flyweight world title on the scales after missing weight in his scheduled title defense against challenger Jacob Smith in November last year. Although the contest still went ahead, only the British challenger was eligible to win the belt. Nevertheless, Rodtang secured an emphatic decision victory, which left the flyweight world title vacant.
The Thai striker enters ONE 173 riding high off his impressive knockout win over Takeru Segawa in March.
Incidentally, Takeru is also slated to compete at the event, featuring in a flyweight kickboxing contest against veteran Bosnian-Canadian fighter Denis Puric.
