Funding Radar: Eureka and Japan launch joint call to boost global industrial R&D

Eureka, known as the world’s largest public network for international cooperation in research and innovation, is supporting a new joint call with Japan aimed at strengthening global partnerships in industrial R&D and driving technological breakthroughs across multiple disciplines.

This joint call is organised by the national funding bodies of Japan and the United Kingdom under Eureka’s international collaboration programme, Globalstars. The initiative brings together participation from several countries, including Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Canada, Denmark, France, Israel, Japan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

The programme supports civilian R&D projects across a wide range of technological fields, with the exception of nuclear power and drug discovery. Key priority areas for this call include quantum technology, artificial intelligence, and robotics, among others.

Through this collaboration, Eureka aims to foster innovation and accelerate the development of cutting-edge technologies on a global scale.
