Gorham volleyball takes third straight Class A crown

GORHAM — The Gorham volleyball team continued their dominance in Class A, securing their third consecutive title at the University of Southern Maine on Saturday.

The Rams defeated Thornton Academy in a competitive match, winning 3-1. Gorham took the first two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-23. Thornton Academy fought back to claim the third set, 25-21, but Gorham sealed the victory with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.

Key performers for Gorham included Abigail Stevens, who recorded nine kills, while Liana Edwards and Ava DeVinney each contributed seven kills. For Thornton Academy, Marta Semino led the effort with 11 kills.
