The prominent streaming giant Amazon Prime Video will stream the film’s original Kannada version, as well as dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam for now. The Hindi version of this period drama will be released digitally a month later.
### Amazon Prime Video Bags Digital Rights for Rs. 110 Crores
Bollywood Hungama has learned about an interesting development regarding the film’s digital deal. The makers of *Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1* initially asked for Rs. 125 crores for the OTT rights, considering the tremendous buzz surrounding the film. They approached Netflix first, which agreed to offer Rs. 100 crores. However, Amazon Prime Video stepped in with a better offer of Rs. 110 crores, winning the rights for streaming.
This deal marks the second-highest OTT deal ever for a Kannada film. The top spot remains with *KGF Chapter 2* (2022), whose digital rights fetched over Rs. 300 crores.

Interestingly, both the *KGF* and *Kantara* franchises are backed by Hombale Films. This production house deserves credit for placing Kannada cinema on the global map through these monumental successes.
